Sasquatch expands to two weekends in 2014

Well, the major music festival arms race is officially on. In 2012 the Coachella Valley Music Festival went to two consecutive weekends with the same lineup each weekend and sold out both weekends with ease in 2012 and 2013.

This year the wildly popular Sasquatch! Music Festival at the Gorge sold out in a record 90 minutes. So the news that Sasquatch! is expanding to two weekends in 2014 should be no surprise.

Next year Sasquatch! will take place May 23-25 (Memorial Day weekend) and July 4-6 with different lineups each weekend. This is huge. Basically the geniuses at Live Nation have found a way to give people more of a good thing, and I am assuming they will likely double their money.

A lot of fans of the Sasquatch! Music Festival (me, for sure) are going to see this are a big improvement in the festival. As much as I love Sasquatch! and all the experiences you get out of a four-day weekend at the Gorge, four days just feels a little too long. Maybe I am getting old, but a music festival marathon in that heat really shouldn't be more than three days.

Now you get to pick which three-day lineup you like best, or if you want to go to both you now get a month in between to recharge. It is unclear at this time how ticket pricing will be structured or if there will be some kind of deal for people who wish to attend both weekends. As soon as more details come in I will share.
