Discount tickets still available for Cascade's season
There's still time to get in on the early bird ticket discount available through Saturday.
Season tickets will be available at a 10 percent discount through SaturdayPLUG. The discounted price of a five-concert ticket is $90 for general admission and $72 for seniors. After Saturday, prices will go up to $100 and $80, respectively.

"American in Paris": Oct. 21. This concert features the popular Gershwin piece along with Efe Baltacigil as cello soloist in the Haydn "Cello Concerto in D Major" and Dvorak's "Silent Woods." Also on the program is the "Overture to Luisa Miller" by Verdi, Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 by Liszt, and the "Hebrides Overture" by Mendelssohn.
The CSO Holiday Concert: Dec. 16. Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus," Berlin's "White Christmas," and other popular holiday melodies; some will be sing-a-longs. Lighter works by Brahms, Strauss, Bizet, and Leroy Anderson along with Offenbach's "Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld" and selections from "Phantom of the Opera" are on the program.
"Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto": Jan. 20. Featuring Alexander Velinzon in the title work. Also on the program will be Bernstein's "Overture to Candide," the "Fantasia and Fugue in C minor" by Bach-Elgar and Till Eulenspiegel's "Merry Pranks" by Strauss.
Children's Concert: Feb. 22. The concert will feature Dave Dolacky in a repeat performance as narrator of "Paddington Bear's First Concert." Tickets for the Children's Concert are not included in the season ticket price.
"Beethoven's Fourth": March 17. That symphony will be the showcase piece. Also, Demarre Mcgill will perform as flute soloist in the Carl Reinecke "Flute Concerto in D minor." The program will also include the Polonaise Op. 49 In Memory of Pushkin, and the "Masquerade Suite" by Khachaturian.
Ensemble concert: April 13. Ensembles composed of members of the symphony will perform at the Edmonds United Methodist Church, 828 Caspers St., Edmonds. The program will be announced. Tickets are $15 and $10 and are not included in the season ticket package.
"Rachmaninoff": May 12. Natalya Ageyeva will play Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3. Also on the program are Wagner's "Overture to the Opera Rienzi" and the "Classical Symphony" by Prokofieff.
All concerts, with the exception of the Ensemble Concert and the Children's Concert, are performed at 7:30 p.m. at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N, Edmonds. They are preceded at 6:30 p.m. by a lecture given by KUOW's Dave Beck.
