Kevin Constantine is introduced as head coach of the expansion Everett Silvertips. He gives Everett instant credibility because of his seven seasons as a head coach in the NHL with the San Jose Sharks, Pittsburgh Penguins and New Jersey Devils.

With a 2-1 overtime victory over the Kelowna Rockets in Game 7, the Constantine-led Silvertips advance to the Western Hockey League finals as an expansion team. Everett sets numerous records for a WHL expansion team, going 35-27-8-2 and winning the U.S. Division and Western Conference titles.

Constantine is awarded the Dunc McCallum Memorial Trophy as the WHL’s Coach of the Year.
June 10, 2005
With the departure of general manager Doug Soetaert, Constantine becomes Everett’s director of hockey operations in addition to being head coach.

Everett wins its second U.S. Division title in three seasons under Constantine.
Aug. 21, 2006
Soetaert returns as general manager, resulting in Constantine relinquishing his title as director of hockey operations.

Constantine is given a then-league record $5,000 fine and suspended four games for his part in the “bus gate” scandal, in which he made his players ride the bus back to Everett in their gear following a preseason loss at Tri-City.

Everett finishes 54-15-1-2 to claim the Scotty Munro Trophy for the league’s best record. The Silvertips also win their third U.S. Division title in four seasons under Constantine. However, Everett is upset in the second round of the playoffs by the Prince George Cougars.

Constantine steps down to take the head-coaching position with the Houston Aeros, the American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild. In Constantine’s four seasons the Silvertips went 162-97-20-9 and won seven playoff series.

Constantine’s contract with the Aeros is not renewed. Houston goes 117-94-11-18 in his three seasons.

Constantine is hired as head coach by HC Ambri-Piotta of the Swiss professional league.

Constantine is fired by HC Ambri-Piotta after the team wins just twice in its first 14 games of the 2012-13 season. The team went 30-57-5-7 in parts of three seasons under Constantine. He spends the remainder of the season with the team as a consultant.

Constantine is hired as head coach by the Silvertips, returning to the WHL after a six-year absence.
