Jay Z teams with Samsung to give away new record
But that doesn’t mean Samsung got the album for free or Jay-Z isn’t getting paid. You had better believe Jay-Z is getting paid. In fact, Samsung paid $5 a piece for each copy they will give away. If you aren’t a math magician that’s an automatic five million dollars for Jay Z to give an exclusive early release to a lucky one million Samsung users.
If you are a music fan this is a pretty sweet thank you from Samsung for you picking them over the iPhone and iPad. I have pretty much been exclusively using Apple products the last few years (which I love) and it doesn’t really bother me to wait a few extra days to get my hands on “Magna Carta Holy Grail,” but I’m still pretty jealous.
This is pretty genius. Not only does Jay-Z already have a platinum album that isn’t even out yet but when the album is released to the public on July 7 it’s going to sell a million more based off that half-time spot they ran that featured Jay-Z working on the album with producer royalty such as Rick Rubin, Pharrell and others.
So if you love hiphop and Kanye West’s new Album “Yeezus” left you scratching your head (like lots of people) don’t worry, “Magna Carta Holy Grail is coming. See the video below.
