The event is planned for the holiday at Evergreen Playfield, with musical entertainment beginning at 8 p.m. followed by the fireworks show shortly after 10 p.m. People can arrive as early as 6:30 p.m. to get a good viewing spot. They can bring a picnic dinner while they wait for the entertainment to begin.
Earlier this year, the city sought sponsors to fund a community event on Independence Day and several businesses, organizations and individuals responded.
Sponsors include the Red Onion Burgers, Premera Blue Cross, HomeStreet Bank, Urology Northwest, Autographics, NW Home Investments, Robert Reed Newell, Snohomish County Fire District 1 Professional Firefighters -- IAFF Local 1828, Waste Management, Mountlake Terrace Police Guild, AFCO & Sons, Mountlake Terrace Police Officers Association, Mountlake Terrace Eye Care and the city manager.
Evergreen Playfield No. 6 is located just south of 224th Street SW and 56th Avenue W. It's the field with the track where the Tour de Terrace carnival takes place. Parking is available on the street, at Evergreen Playfield at 22205 56th Ave. W, and at the Recreation Pavilion at 5303 228th St. SW.
Pets and personal fireworks are not allowed at this event.
