Feel the warmth of summer and be filled with some American spirit when The Hometown Hootenanny presents its "Salute to Summer" concert at Historic Everett Theatre with music that includes songs of the season and some patriotic tunes as well.
The repertoire will include the Hometown Band performing two sets of music that include warm weather favorites by Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Rodney Atkins and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
Wear a tropical shirt and the theater will provide the leis.
Some songs on tap for the evening include "Chattahoochee," "Fishin' in the Dark" and "It's America."
Part of the evening will be dedicated to patriotic music as a kickoff to the Fourth of July. The bluegrass band Badger Packet and other acts will be featured during this segment.
Other guest artists include the Americana roots singer and songwriter Bradford Loomis.
To enhance the summertime feeling, the theater will take on the look and feel of a country fair. There will also be a silent auction for prize-winning baked goods.
The audience can participate in that part too by baking items for the auction. Go to www.redcurtainfoundation.org for more details.
"Salute to Summer" begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett.
Tickets are $16.50 for adults, $13 for seniors, students and military, and $5 for kids 12 and under. Go to brownpapertickets.com or call 425-258-6766 or buy tickets at the door.
