ROYAL CITY — A 77-year-old man was on his way to go fishing when he was struck by pickup and killed Wednesday near Royal City.
Washington State Patrol trooper Darren Wright said Manuel Orozco Garcia was carrying a fishing pole and tackle box when he tried to cross Highway 26.
The Columbia Basin Herald reported the Royal City man walked in front of the pickup and the State Patrol determined the driver was not at fault.
