Where were you born? How long have you lived in the Snohomish County area? What do you like most about it? I was born Jersey City, N.J. My family moved here when I was very young — Everett still had cobblestone streets and the Interurban ran down the center of Colby to south Everett. No matter where we have visited, there is nothing like coming home to the beauty of our area. I love living here.
How long have you worked in Real Estate?
I have been in real estate for 24 years and still love what I do.
What did you do before that? Clothing sales, hotel/restaurant business. I helped open the (then) Holiday Inn on 128th Street in 1969. I was there for eight years and then decided to stay home to raise my three teenage girls for awhile.
What is your specialty and what does that mean for the people you work with? Putting buyers and sellers together and working well with fellow agents to help them reach their desired goals.
What is the most challenging aspect of what you do? Trying to keep things moving as smoothly as possible. Buying or selling a home, as we all know, can create a lot of anxiety and stress. I try to avoid as much of that for my clients
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy a home? In this market; be prepared! See a lender so you know your limits, then choose an agent you're comfortable with and the home that makes you feel good when you walk in the door.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to sell a home? For most of us, the biggest asset we have is our home so, shine it up! Start looking at it as if you're the buyer. Go out in front and look at your curb appeal. What would make you want to say "can't wait to see the inside"? If you've been putting off repairs get them done. Listen to your agent's advice, that's what you hire us for.
Why should someone choose you as their real estate agent? I think it's because I really listen to what they want — I really care about their goals. My phone is never off. They will always find me available for their needs or concerns.
What do you most enjoy doing when you're not working? Naturally being with my family, having coffee in the mornings with my girls and watching my grandson play ball — he's now in the minor leagues. He made regional Northern Division MVP and Pacific Division 1st Team All American infielder, while playing for ECC Trojans, who won the NWAACC Championship this year. How exciting — sooo proud!
