EVERETT -- Don't be surprised to hear strains of live rock, blues or bluegrass echoing through downtown streets during lunch hours this summer.
It's part of the annual Music on the Plaza series hosted by Snohomish County government every Wednesday, from July 10 through Aug. 28. The free performances are scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the county campus amphitheater on Rockefeller Avenue and Wall Street.
The concerts feature local artists and are presented by the Snohomish County Executive's Office.
"Music is good for the soul," said County Executive John Lovick, "and this series is a great way to show the community how important the arts are."
Other returning vendors are the Comcast Arena Grill and florists.
Here's the musical lineup:
•July 10, Shaggy Sweet, alternative
•July 17, Courtney Marie Andrews Band, singer-songwriter
•July 24, Money Creek Mining Co., bluegrass
•July 31, Blake Noble, Australian percussive guitarist
•Aug. 7, Crème Tangerine, Beatles covers
•Aug. 14, Impossible Bird, fiddle-duo
•Aug. 21, Julia Massey & the Five Finger Discount, dream-pop
•Aug. 28, Curtis Hammond Band, nine-piece blues band
