TWIN FALLS, Idaho — Much of southern Idaho is under a red-flag warning with a half-dozen wildfires burning and officials worried that holiday fireworks may spark more.
The Bray Lake Fire seven miles north of Bliss was reported Wednesday evening. The Times-News reports it quickly burned 3 square miles and was still growing.
Authorities believe it was caused by lightning. The fire is burning on public land.
Fire officials south of Richfield expect the Jim Brown fire to be contained Thursday night after burning more than 22 square miles.
Meanwhile, wind caused the Pointe Fire near Rogerson to spread Wednesday afternoon before firefighters regained control that evening. It has burned more than 4 square miles.
The newspaper reported no structures are threatened by the fires burning in the southern part of the state.
