Associated Press
SEATTLE -- Police say they shot and killed a man who had barricaded himself inside a Seattle apartment, resulting in an hours-long standoff.
Streets around the apartment in the Capitol Hill neighborhood were blocked Friday as negotiators tried to speak with the man. Authorities responded after early morning reports of a man firing a gun inside the apartment. Nearby residents were evacuated.
Seattle police said on their Twitter that the "officer involved shooting" was a "confirmed fatality." No officers were injured.
No other information was immediately available.
