Coast Guard cutter to change commanding officers

KETCHIKAN, Alaska -- The Coast Guard cutter Long Island will get a new commanding officer during a formal ceremony in Ketchikan.
The agency says in an announcement that Lt. Kalen Kenny will relieve Lt. Adam Disque in a ceremony Wednesday.
Disque has commanded the Long Island since July 2011. He is departing to study living marine resources and marine affairs at the University of Delaware.
Kenny is joining the Long Island from a previous assignment as operations officer on the cutter Campbell, which is home-ported in Kittery, Maine.
Kenny previously served as communications officer and first lieutenant on the cutter Reliance in Kittery and as executive officer on the cutter Liberty in Auke Bay.
