The return (and longevity) of Twinkies

Twinkies return!

More Soylent Green? When Hostess Twinkies return to store shelves Monday, you'll be able to keep them for up to 45 days, rather than the 26 days that the brand's previous owner stated as the shelf life for the spongy creme-filled cakes. The new owners of Hostess have declined to say what changes were made to Twinkies to extend their shelf life.

Nor is it saying what your family will save on embalming charges when the time comes if you made Twinkies a regular snack.

Blame Oprah: At least two new TV talk shows have debuted recently, specifically "Home & Family" on the Hallmark Channel and Fox's "Kris," featuring Kardashian mom Kris Jenner.

If it seems as if anyone can get a TV talk show, well, have we got a surprise for you. Check under your chairs. Yes. You get a talk show! And you get a talk show! And you get a talk show!

Are we there yet? It's taken longer than expected for NASA's Curiosity rover to finish its recent explorations. It spent seven months examining rocks and dirt in Mars' Gale Crater but is now making its way to Mount Sharp and has traveled a total of 190 feet since July 4.

Any kid riding in the back seat to Disneyland can relate to the trip's excruciatingly slow pace; Mom and Dad have to stop anytime they see a roadside attraction for the Rocks and Dirt of Mystery.
