SEATTLE — A federal grand jury in Seattle has indicted four previously convicted felons on charges they sold or conspired to sell dozens of weapons to an undercover agent in Snohomish County.
Thirty-four-year-old Heather Chancey, 53-year-old Mark Jenkins, 37-year-old James Michaels and 43-year-old Curtis Van Putten, all of Marysville, were arrested Wednesday morning and were expected to appear in U.S. District Court later in the day. Charges include being a felon in possession of a firearm and conspiracy to unlawfully deal in firearms.
The indictment says Chancey sold 40 firearms, including sawed-off shotguns and weapons with obliterated serial numbers, as well as methamphetamine to the undercover agent and introduced the agent to the others involved, who agreed to sell more guns.
Prosecutors say most of the sales took place in the parking lot of the Tulalip Resort Casino.
U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkan says the defendants had no concerns about where the guns were going to end up.
The indictment says the defendants obtained the weapons from an unknown source.
