Cannonballs and bellyflops
See the best in cannonballs and belly flops at this annual contest put on by Edmonds Parks and Recreation, 6 p.m. Friday at Yost Pool, 9535 Bowdoin Way. It’s $5 to participate.
Age groups start at 5 years old. Proceeds benefit the Edmonds Youth Scholarship Fund. More info: 425-771-0230.
Mill Creek Festival offers plenty: The Mill Creek Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and features live music, juried artists’ booths, a community stage with local acts, a pet plaza, pony rides and other family activities.
A beer and wine garden and main-stage entertainment continues to 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday.
The event takes place along Mill Creek Boulevard behind Albertson’s and on a portion of 161st Street SE. Free shuttle service will be available from Jackson High School, 1508 136th St. SE, during festival hours.
The event is produced by the Mill Creek Business Association.

Everett Bike Polo organizes games every Monday and Thursday at Garfield Park, at the corner of Walnut and 23rd Streets in north Everett. All skill levels are welcome. Just bring your bike and helmet. Some bikes available to loan.
