Motopony's Daniel Blue releases solo project

Daniel Blue, the front man of Seattle band Motopony, released his debut solo project this week, "The Agreeable White Tiger Moth: Volume 1." This solo project is a new journey for Blue but is certainly not a surprise as some of the most beautiful and intimate performances I have ever seen in Seattle were courtesy of Daniel Blue and his acoustic guitar.

This new solo project shows a different side of one of Seattle's current wild men of rock. It features of pair of gorgeous "folkadelic" tracks that sound like something from another time.

"I realized Motopony was never going settle down and be in a place where I could sing softly. I had a lot to say that wasn't necessarily upbeat and rock and roll" says Blue of the new project.

These first two songs can be heard below and have left me very excited to hear what else Blue is working on. There will be a pair of release shows at Sanctuary in Ballard. This will also be the grand opening of Santuary. Details and ticket info for these shows below:

Aug. 2: Dearborn, Shannon Stephens, with friends: Meagan Grandall, Torry Anderson

Aug. 3: Courtney Marie Andrews, Jason Scott Dodson with friends: Lambert Mary and Micah Simler
