Helen and Anna Marie Jackson, wife and daughter of Sen. Henry M. Jackson, were enjoying a short visit here since last week at the Jackson family home at 36th and Oakes. This gave a chance for the 5-month-old Anna Marie’s Aunts Gertrude and Marie to keep up with her progress.
Stan Lund, son of Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Lund of Arlington, was in Lausanne, Switzerland, for six weeks of intensive language instruction. The Western Washington State College junior was in Europe under the American Language and Education Center at Michigan State University.
25 years ago (1988)
A public hearing on the design of the eastbound U.S. 2 bridge across the Snohomish river Delta was scheduled for 7 tonight at the Everett Pacific Hotel. The state Department of Transportation planned to replace the two mile deteriorating bridge and wood trestle system.
Ann Averill, a Snohomish City Council member and former mayor, announced she was running as a Republican for a seat in the state House of Representatives. She was running in District 39-A, which included Snohomish, Lake Stevens, Machias and south Everett.
