Front Porch: Burn ban planned in part of county

An outdoor burning ban is planned in unincorporated Snohomish County beginning 8 a.m. Monday.
Recreational fires that follow strict standards are allowed.
The county has a outdoor burning hotline at 425-388-3508. For information about other locations, contact your local fire department.
Check out the Junk in the Trunk: Marysville Parks and Recreation is hosting its annual rain-or-shine Junk in the Trunk flea market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Marysville Municipal Courthouse parking lot, 1015 State Ave.
Shoppers can buy garage sale stuff, tools, antiques, collectibles and crafts from more than 60 vendors. Entertainment is planned and food sales are available. Shoppers can park at City Hall, just one building away. Learn more at www.marys villewa.gov or call 360-363-8450.
Fun in Darrington: The Buddy, Buddy 4.2-mile Fun Run and Walk in memory of Seth Cook is at 10 a.m. Saturday starting at Old School Park, 1026 Alvord St., Darrington, and out to Clear Creek Bridge the Mountain Loop Highway and back to the park.
Registration the day of the race is $30. Children 5 and younger are free. More information is on the Buddy, Buddy Fun Run Facebook page, or call 425-319-6135. Proceeds benefit Seattle Children's Hospital.
The Mountain Loop Music Festival is from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, also at Old School Park. Local music groups, a barbecue and old fashioned carnival games are planned. For more information, call 360-436-0308.
