Seems Like Yesterday
Heading to Beirut, Lebanon to attend a World Baptist Youth Conference was Carol Pruett, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Curtis Pruett, 426 Peck's Drive. A June graduate of Everett Junior College, she would spend the coming year as a state youth intern for the American Baptist Churches.
Work was to start tomorrow on construction of a new golf clubhouse at Cedarcrest Golf Course just north of Marysville on the Marysville-Arlington Road. The site of the clubhouse would be the former Quast home, which was razed following damage by a fire that destroyed the previous clubhouse.
25 years ago (1988)
The Children's Company was celebrating its grand opening tomorrow in the new Marysville Towne Center with free popcorn, free balsa gliders, free balloons, free child's fingerprint kit for mom and dad, free drawings every hour, free in store demos and Pepsi and hot dogs.
All were encouraged to join Ronald in the grand opening magic of the new Marysville McDonald's the day after tomorrow. He would arrive by helicopter, officially cut the ribbon and perform magic. The new drive-in was located at 9720 Old Highway 99.
