Associated Press
WALHALLA, S.C. -- Oconee County deputies say a missing 44-year-old mother and her four daughters have been found in Idaho.
Authorities had been looking for Laverne Bennett for nearly a week after she didn't return the children after her normal weekend visitation.
Investigators say Bennett was found with the girls Saturday at a rest area on Interstate 90 near Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, about 2,500 miles from Oconee County.
Authorities say the girls, who range in age from 6 to 10, were fine. They didn't release any other details of why the family was in Idaho.
Bennett has been charged with four counts of custodial interference. Deputies sat extradition proceedings should begin in the next few days. It wasn't known if she had an attorney.
