Heavy equipment operator David Edwards breaks down a wall along Wall Street using an excavator while Dan Ewell sprays down the demolished building with a hose Thursday afternoon in Everett. The crew is clearing the way for the downtown farmers market expected to open late next year. The market is part of a larger development on Grand Avenue that includes 220 apartments and underground parking. The development, by Dargey Enterprises, includes a Hampton Inn & Suites hotel that will face W. Marine View Drive. The same developer built nearby Potala Village, which has apartments above street-level retail and restaurant space.
