Seahawks lunchtime links
Anyway, on with some midday reading as training camp rapidly approaches. First off, if you missed the earlier post, the Seahawks made a roster move today, adding tight end Michael Palmer.
One of the more interesting stories of the day was this USA Today piece on Tarvaris Jackson, who talked to reporters at his football camp in Alabama. The story quotes Jackson as saying he returned to Seattle, where he'll compete for the backup job, because it's where he has a chance to win a title, but the story also describes him as frustrated with how things played out in Buffalo.
"I found out the hard way, it's a business," Jackson said. "It had always been football first for me, but now it's kind of shown me the business part of the NFL. That's what I signed up for, so I can't really complain. I just have to do my job, collect my check and keep this going the best I can."
The Sporting News has this preview on the Seahawks, while ProFootballTalk.com previews the Seahawks as well and has Seattle fourth in their power rankings.
And speaking of PFT, the website finished it's top-100 player ratings, and has Richard Sherman as the top-ranked Seahawks at No. 12. Also on the list are Marshawn Lynch (39), Russell Wilson (41), Earl Thomas (49), Percy Harvin (53), Antoine Winfield (98) and Max Unger (99).
And while plenty of you probably aren't big fans of the 49ers, this Colin Kaepernick profile by Peter King on his new website is worth a read.
