LAKE STEVENS -- Snohomish County Fire District 8 in Lake Stevens plans annual pancake breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday as part of Aquafest.
Both breakfasts will be from 6 a.m. to noon at the downtown fire station, 12409 21st Street NE, Lake Stevens. The meal includes pancakes, ham and eggs.
Local firefighters will be at the breakfasts to chat and answer questions.
Attendees are asked to make a donation. This year, half of the proceeds will go to the family of Vern Foster, a Lake Stevens fire commissioner who died July 5.
Foster was born in Everett and raised his family in Lake Stevens. He was 52, and a long-time local pastor and volunteer. A memorial service was held earlier this month.
