LYNNWOOD — The Lynnwood City Council could make a decision about the future of the city’s struggling golf course within the next few weeks.
A consultant paid to analyze the course’s operations presented his findings at a council meeting last week. The consultant recommended the city hire an outside party to run the course, a move supported by the city parks director and the mayor’s office.
The council ran out of time after the presentation to discuss the next steps, Parks Director Lynn Sordel said Monday. The discussion could happen at the council’s July 29 meeting, but an exact date had not been set, he said.
If the council decides to hire a contractor, the city would need two or three months to solicit bids, Sordel said.
“It’s going to be critical for us to get that completed this fall so we can negotiate a contract and get all the details worked out so we can start the transition in the winter time when things are slow,” he said.
