EVERETT — A Seattle police detective who lives in Snohomish County was arrested Thursday morning for investigation of cyberstalking and identity theft.
The man, 43, is accused of creating a fake Facebook page for his ex-girlfriend after they broke up, according to a Seattle police press release. The pair also had a confrontation on July 17.
Seattle police did not release where the arrest took place. The officer is believed to live in Everett.
The officer was expected to be booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
Snohomish County prosecutors will review the case.
The officer has been with the department 17 years and was assigned to the criminal investigations bureau. He was placed on leave.
