Seems Like Yesterday
Pressing for a professional look was one of the tricks of the trade being demonstrated at the Bishop Method of sewing workshop just concluding today at Everett Junior college. Instructors included Kitty Rotruck, nationally known authority on the method of clothing construction, and Mary Lu Engman, a staff member at EJC.
Herald staffers Arne Sunde, Will Nessly and Bill Lipsky yesterday picked up limits of five to 25 pounders. They fished off Matt Bloom's "Seat Otter," a charter boat operating out of the new SS Catala Ocean Shores charter service. The reports of a big harvest of salmon taken outside of local waters raised the hopes of Everett anglers fishing nearer home.
25 years ago (1988)
Maybe someday Richard R. Gill, of Everett, would be stationed at this hometown if he remained in the Navy long enough. A seaman recruit. he had been assigned to the air carrier Nimitz, now homeported in Bremerton.
Donald L. O'Flanagan, of Marysville, a lance corporal in the Marine Corps, recently received a letter of appreciation for outstanding performance of duty at Marin Corps Air Station, Tustin, Calif.
