Alice Swanson has been seeking compensation since 2007, when she tripped and fell on the speed bump. The woman said she had been a customer for 20 years at the casino south of Las Vegas.
She said the bump was too high, and a jury agreed. Jurors decided the casino had failed to exercise reasonable care. They awarded Swanson $375,000 for past pain and suffering and $400,000 for future pain and suffering.
Harrah's appealed but the high court said, "The facts presented do not clearly show error or manifest injustice, which would require reversal of the verdict."
