Everett (4-3 second half, 27-18 overall) starter Jake Zokan picked up where the team left off Sunday, allowing no runs in seven innings and striking out two to lower his earned run average to 3.74 this season. The combined shutout by Zokan and relievers Nate Koneski and Cameron Copping was the second straight for Everett, extending a scoreless streak for Hillsboro (4-3, 15-30) to 19 consecutive innings.
The Frogs managed to end a scoreless tie in the fifth innning when shortstop Brock Hebert hit an RBI triple that scored catcher Daniel Torres from first base for a 1-0 lead. Wilson added clutch hits, connecting on a two-run RBI double in the sixth and driving in another run on a double in the eighth to give Everett the six-run advantage.
