HILLSBORO, Ore. — The AquaSox pitching staff shut out Hillsboro for the second straight game and right fielder Austin Wilson powered the offense to give Everett a 6-0 win over the Hops on Monday night.
Everett (4-3 second half, 27-18 overall) starter Jake Zokan picked up where the team left off Sunday, allowing no runs in seven innings and striking out two to lower his earned run average to 3.74 this season. The Frogs managed to end a scoreless tie in the fifth innning when shortstop Brock Hebert hit an RBI triple that scored catcher Daniel Torres from first base for a 1-0 lead. Wilson added clutch hits, connecting on a two-run RBI double in the sixth and driving in another run on a double in the eighth to give Everett the six-run advantage.
