Seahawks' Harvin says he needs surgery

According to report, Seattle receiver looking at 3-to4-month recovery

Following Tuesday's practice, the Seahawks didn't know yet the status of receiver Percy Harvin, who was in New York to receive a second-opinion on his injured hip.

Well a couple hours later, Harvin, via Twitter, gave out his own update, and it's not good news for the Seahawks.

Harvin's agent did not immediately return a phone call, but according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, Harvin is looking at a three to four-month recovery, meaning a possible late-season return. The Seahawks will now likely leave Harvin on the Physically Unable to Return list when the season begins, which under new rules would allow them to wait as late as Week 15 to activate Harvin.
