For starters, there was a long list of players not on the field today. In addition to the players on the Physically Unable to Perform list, bringing the total number of players not participating up to 18: Percy Harvin, Sidney Rice, Jeremy Lane, Robert Turbin, Tharold Simon, Ron Parker, Kyle Knox, Michael Palmer, Kenneth Boatright, Bobby Wagner, Cliff Avril, Korey Toomer, Michael Brooks, Michael Bowie, Zach Miller, Darren Fells, Chris Clemons and Greg Scruggs.
The most notable new addition to that list is Wagner, the team's starting middle linebacker. With Wagner out, Allen Bradford was getting first-team reps.
Avril's continued absence has opened the door for one of the least likely storied of camp: DE Benson Mayowa, who was signed after participating in rookie minicamp as a tryout player, working with the No. 1 defense in the nickel package.
Rookie TE Luke Willson didn't finish practice after taking a hard hit in the end zone from safety Winston Guy. Trainers appeared to be checking out Willson's arm. WR Stephen Williams also did not finish practice, though it was unclear why.
Also of note
--It's early still, but rookie Jordan Hill is becoming a regular with Seattle's first-team nickel defense, and has looked very disruptive.
--Jermaine Kearse, who has been enjoying a very strong camp, made a nice concentration catch, snagging a ball from flat off of his back after the pass was initially broken up.
--Russell Wilson had one of his better days in camp, including a few very well-thrown deep passes, the best of which hit Golden Tate in stride after the receiver got past Brandon Browner. A couple of plays later, Wilson hit rookie Chris Harper down the sideline after Harper beat Browner with a double move.
--The defense got one back a couple of plays later when Earl Thomas showed off his range, covering a ton of ground to knock the ball out of Sean McGrath's hands in the end zone after the tight end found himself wide open and on the receiving end of a 60-plus-yard pass from Wilson.
