SEATTLE — A chance of showers is in the forecast for the state on Thursday night and Friday.
Rain would be a relief from wildfires. But the National Weather Service said there’s also a chance that lightning from thunderstorms in the Cascades and Eastern Washington could start more fires in dry grass and brush.
No rain has been recorded at Sea-Tac International Airport for the month of July.
Forecasters say clouds should lower the high temperatures through the weekend to the 70s in Western Washington and 80s in Eastern Washington.
By Sunday forecasters say the recent pattern of morning clouds and afternoon sun should return.
