EVERETT — A couple of brush fires were doing their best to mangle the southbound commute out of Everett on Tuesday afternoon.
Several small fires apparently were caused by a car with an automotive problem along I-5 near 47th Street SE, Everett Fire Marshal Rick Robinson said. No injuries were reported.
State traffic-monitoring cameras showed a lot of smoke and lingering traffic headaches in the area as of 4:45 p.m.
Crews were working on the hot spots, Robinson said. The Washington State Patrol also was reporting some lane closures.
