Just for dogs

Video dogsitter: DOGTV, which bills itself as the first TV network created just for dogs, is now available on DirectTV (Page D6). The $4.99-per-month channel is intended to soothe and stimulate pooches left alone while their owners work.

The original content was produced and developed by a team of pet experts, and presumably consists of shows with titles like "Chasin' Cats with Rex," "Extreme Slipper-Chew Challenge," and "The Real Pampered Bitches of Beverly Hills."

Roto-rooter: It took sewage workers in London 10 days to clear away a "fatberg" -- a 15-ton, bus-sized lump of congealed fat.

The Buzz has no comment here, except to tip our hat to the smart-alecks who took to the Internet to ask what Rush Limbaugh was doing in the London sewers.

Mixed blessings: Medical advances may some day enable people to live 120 years, but most Americans are ambivalent about living that long, a poll finds.

For one thing, an extreme lifespan would exhaust the nation's stockpile of "Matlock" and "Murder She Wrote" episodes. For another, it would require attending not only the grandchildren's school concerts, but also the great-grandchildren's and possibly even the great-great grandchildren's.
