Added ballast prevents Keystone ferry from leaning August 12, 2013
Best bets on TV this week August 12, 2013
We're taking bets now on who nods off first: the couples being interviewed or the television audience.
More channel surfing: Thursday at 9 p.m. on the History Channel, the "Pawn Stars" staff ogle a 2004 Boston Red Sox World Series ring.
The ring's owner, who identifies himself only as "Vladimir," tells the pawn shop staff he also has a 2005 New England Patriots Super Bowl ring that he used only once to kill someone.
Lean on me: The state ferry system has found a solution to a problem three of its new ferries had with a noticeable list to one side. The ferry Salish, which serves the Coupeville to Port Townsend route, has been loaded with 72.5 tons of steel shot, correcting the lean and improving its handling, all for a relatively affordable $109,000.
The same solution will then by employed in the Legislature, with lawmakers being loaded up with steel shot, on one side or the other, depending on their political tilt.
