Weekend fun: Beer, food, music, art and more

Drink beer: Taste the amazing things local brewers can do at the Everett Craft Beer Festival on Saturday. There will, of course, be the usual brews, but some beers will also be infused with flavors that are filtered in on the spot. The festival features 30 brewers pouring more than 60 beers. About 20 of those will be infused with additional flavors. Get the details in our story here.

Live art: Fresh Paint, a festival of working artists, is Saturday and Sunday at the Port of Everett Marina. The entire promenade will be filled with painters, potters, glass-blowers, photographers and jewelry makers, all working as well as showing and selling their creations. Food fest: Gourmet food trucks will fill Hoyt Avenue in Everett from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Some of the trucks you can expect to see are: Streetzeria, Lumpia World, Contigo, Tokyo Dogs, Jemil’s Big Easy, The Sammich Truck, Bite Me Cupcakes, Ezelle’s Fried Chicken, Nosh; Box Nature Sushi, Where Ya At Matt?, Curry Now, Taco Time Traveller and more. Live music The Everett Music Initiative is throwing a party with one of Seattle’s biggest bands, Deep Sea Diver, on Saturday. Kairos and Everett’s own I Will Keep Your Ghost will also be playing. The show is the after party for the Everett Craft Beer Festival and the Fresh Paint Festival that are also that day. The show is for those 21 and over and will be held in the alley behind 2812 Hoyt Ave. in Everett. Music starts at 7 and will go till around 10:30. More live music The Snohomish Taste of Music is Friday to Sunday. Musicians will be performing on several stages around town. The main stage is $5 per day but the other stages are free. Get all the info here.

A bit of The Herald: The Herald will be relocating to a new home in Everett early next year. We need to clean. What do we need to clear out? Chairs, desks, tables, office supplies, camera equipment, old newspapers, office artwork, and cork-boards to name a few. The garage sale is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday in our parking lot at the corner of California Street and Grand Avenue. All of the proceeds raised will go to The Herald Editorial Scholarship Fund through the Greater Everett Community Foundation.

Up in the sky: The Flying Heritage Collection’s Free Fly Day is at noon Saturday. It will feature a Messerschmitt Bf 109, rare Focke-Wulf Fw 190, and the Fieseler Storch. Planes fly from Paine Field. Watch them from outside the museum, at 3407 109th St. SW. The event is weather dependent and does not include admission to the museum. More info here.

Bright colors: See the dazzling colors and shapes of dahlias at a show on Saturday and Sunday in Everett. Get the details here.

Family feud: How much trivia does your family collectively know? Find out and win prizes at this Darrington Library event, 11 a.m. Saturday. The library is at 1005 Cascade St. More info: 360-436-1600.

Clean dogs: Scrub-A-Mutt dog wash is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Strawberry Fields Athletic Park, 6100 152nd St. NE, Marysville. Suggested donations are $5-$10; nail trims are $5. Proceeds go to local animal rescue centers. There also will be vendors and police K-9 demonstrations. More info here.

More clean dogs: The Camano Animal Shelter Association will have a Dog Wash fundraiser event, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the shelter, located at the corner of Can Ku Road and East Camano Drive on Camano Island. PEPSapalooza: The family music festival — featuring Caspar Babypants, The Not-Its!, Recess Monkey, and Rolie Polie Guacamole — is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Everett Memorial Stadium. Lots of other activities. More info here.

Night at the beach: Dress warmly and bring a flashlight for the Moonlight Beach Adventure from 7:30 to 9:30 Saturday at Marina Beach, 650 Admiral Way S., Edmonds. Divers will bring live critters to shore for this interpretative program hosted by Edmonds Parks &Recreation. For more information call 425-771-0227.

Pretty cars: The Sittin’ Pretti Summer Slam gears up at 10 a.m. and winds down at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Arlington Airport, 18204 59th Drive NE. Tickets are $30 at the gate. Click here for more information.

Tune in: The Harmonica Pocket musical twosome gets kids ages 3 and older moving and grooving at two free shows Saturday: 11 a.m. to noon at Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave.; and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Evergreen Branch, 9512 Evergreen Way Everett.

Fair time: The Whidbey Island Fair runs through Sunday in Langley. You’ll find all the fun you’d expect at a fair: Rides, food, exhibits, animals and lots of fun for families. Get more details here.

See birds: The Pilchuck Audubon Society hosts a bird walk along Everett’s Langus Riverfront Trail on Sunday. Meet at 10 a.m. in the picnic shelter at Langus Riverfront Park, 400 Smith Island Road, off Highway 529. Much of the walk is wheelchair accessible and kid-friendly. Jonathan Blubaugh leads the walk.
