Regarding the letter, “Keep campaigns on positive side,” which accused Kevin Stoltz of being negative. When one is commenting on the behavior of Mayor Joe Marine, it is impossible not to use negative comments.
The writer mentioned the following:
The mayor’s development of Lighthouse Park — which we residents cannot get near due to the crowds. The police department does though, to handle all the parking fights, drugs etc. I would rather my police department be dealing with crime in the community not at the Lightouse Park. Way to go, Joe.
The Rosehill Community Center — did he do that single-handedly? My, I have underestimated him!
Our Police Department has always been professional; it didn’t miraculously change because of Joe.
And the writer failed to mention his ramrod hiring of a questionable candidate for Public Works Director, one accused of sexual harassment in Okanogan County. Sorry, can’t put a positive spin on that.
Kevin has tried to make this council more accountable to the people who voted them in. Jennifer Gregerson will do the same.
So yes, let’s give a “universal no” to Joe Marine, no candy-coated comments required, just say no to Joe.
