Kimberly-Clark Corp. no longer wants to cover the site of its demolished pulp and paper mill in Everett with topsoil and grass, saying the barren expanse of pulverized concrete will be easier to market to prospective buyers in its current condition.
If Everett officials grant the request and the property remains still undeveloped, The Buzz can see several cinematic uses for the mill site:
The setting for a “Mad Max”-type post-apocalyptic movie thriller;
A stand-in for the American Southwest of the 1870s. Some tumbleweeds would have to be brought in;
The set for NASA’s next faked moon landing.
Land shark: Couldn’t get enough “Sharknado?” Now comes “Ghost Shark,” another cheeseball TV yarn about a great white killing machine on the SyFy channel. The gimmick here is that the title character hunts on land as well as in the sea.
Spoiler alert: As old-school “Saturday Night Live” viewers will recall, the killer gains entry into victims’ homes by announcing “Candygram.”
