4 survive plane crash into Oregon lake
Undersheriff Bruce Riley said Boy Scouts from Salem were among the witnesses who saw the plane go down in the Willamette National Forest.
Pilot Trevor Schultz and his passengers left the Lebanon, Ore., Municipal Airport early Sunday to look for areas in which to hunt elk. After the engine failed, the Schultz glided the Cessna to the lake and landed on the water.
Riley says everyone swam to shore and were said to be in good spirits. He identified the passengers as 47-year-old Tim Miller, 13-year-old Tyrel Miller and 12-year-old Megan Miller.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will arrange to retrieve the sunken plane.
