I am writing to endorse Dr. Paul Williams, who is running for Fire Commissioner (Position 4) for Island County Fire District 1 (also known as Camano Island Fire and Rescue).
In addition to being a doctor, Paul has a background in emergency medical care. Eighty percent of the calls received by our fire department are for emergency medical service. If elected, Paul would be the only fire commissioner with emergency medical experience, which is important.
Paul also is a partner in the medical clinics where he works. He has 20 years of business experience managing budgets while making sure his clinic meets the needs of his patients. Our fire district would benefit from this kind of financial and management experience, as well.
Paul is local to our community, and aware of the challenges facing our fire district to maintain emergency service levels. I believe he is the best candidate for the job, and am asking our community to vote for Dr. Paul Williams in November.
