LONGVIEW — The Cowlitz County city of Woodland is halting the addition of fluoride into its drinking water.
The city council voted Monday night to remove the additive.
Even if fluoridation prevents tooth decay, Councilman Ben Fredricks said the city shouldn’t make a medical decision for citizens without their consent.
The Daily News reported the city is halting fluoridation on Tuesday but it will take a few days before all the treated water flows through the system.
