Channel-surfing the vast cultural wasteland: Among the best bets on TV this week is “Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy” at 9 p.m. Wednesday on the History Channel. Larry interviews two brothers in Illinois who harvest deer urine.
We’re betting the NatGeo Channel is still fuming that the History Channel won the rights to that series.

More appointment television: Just weeks ago, the Syfy channel terrorized Los Angeles with “Sharknado.” Now L.A. must survive giant reptiles in “Age of Dinosaurs” at 9 p.m. Thursday.
Dinosaurs chasing humans? That’s so 1993. If you want market share these days you’ve got to synergize; you have to combine your threats to humanity. Get back to us when you’ve got dinosaurs piloting flying saucers. During an earthquake. With Congress in session.

They did say “biting”: The Farmers’ Almanac is using words like “piercing cold,” “bitterly cold” and “biting cold” to describe this winter, predicting that a powerful winter storm will hit the Northeast during the Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Feb. 2.
But TV ratings should be strong, regardless, because there’s at least a 20 percent chance of sleet mixed with flying piranhas.
