Roster update (updated)

UPDATED: Two changes, I had Manraj Hayer listed twice and no Josh Winquist, so that's been rectified. I also missed Nick White, so he's been added.

Everett reassigned the players who didn't take part in the Green vs. Grey game Sunday (minus Jujhar Khaira and those who were injured). Another 10 were reassigned following the game, those being forwards Braden Allkins, Stevie Bryant, Jake Durflinger, Andrew Fyten, Kevin Jakisch, Patrick Khodorenko and Keyvan Mokhtari, defenseman Connor Nobach, and goaltenders Mario Petit and Josh Stone.

There's no real surprises among that group, possibly with the exception of Durflinger, as the 16-year-old from California tied for the scoring lead during training camp. However, it's always been the plan, both by the Tips and Durflinger's family, for him to potentially join the team starting in 2014. Everett general manager Garry Davidson said he wanted Durflinger to stick around a little longer to see if he's ready a year early, but Durflinger is honoring his commitment to play for Corpus Christi of the NAHL (which happens to be coached by former Silvertips bench boss John Becanic). Durflinger is still very interested in coming to Everett next year.

Also another word on Alec Mehr, who did not play in yesterday's game. The talented 16-year-old forward was offered a WHL education contract by the Tips, but Mehr and his family decided Mehr will play for a prep school in Connecticut this year to keep his options open. Davidson said Mehr's father wasn't sure his son was ready for the WHL yet, but that the Tips are still one of the options for next season.

Anyway, the cuts bring Everett's roster down to 37 players. They are, along with their ages:

Forwards (20): Manraj Hayer (20), Reid Petryk (20), Josh Winquist (20), Kohl Bauml (19), Brayden Low (19), Jujhar Khaira (19), Logan Aasman (18), Linden Penner (18), Carson Stadnyk (18), Waltteri Hopponen (17), Dawson Leedahl (17), Ty Mappin (17), Ivan Nikolishin (17), Kyle Raymond (17), Tyler Sandhu (17), Mitch Skapski (17), Nick White (17), Patrick Bajkov (16), Matt Fonteyne (16), Tyson Jost (15).

Defensemen (13): Matt Pufahl (20), Ben Betker (19), Austin Adam (18), Cole MacDonald (18), Mirco Mueller (18), Lucas Skrumeda (17), Micheal Zipp (17), Kevin Davis (16), Noah Juulsen (16), Arsh Shergill (16), Jordan Wharrie (16), Alex Astasiewicz (15), Ryan Warner (15).

Goaltenders (4): Daniel Cotton (19), Austin Lotz (18), Nik Amundrud (16), Carter Hart (15).

I'm told five or six more players will head home before this weekend's Everett Silvertips Preseason Tournament, so the Tips won't be that far away from their final roster by Friday.
