INDEX — Four hikers were rescued Monday in two different hiking mishaps in Snohomish County.
In one incident, a sheriff’s helicopter crew rescued a woman in her 50s from the Pacific Crest Trail area after she fell and hurt her knee at about 6,000-feet elevation, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.
The woman set off her emergency beacon to alert crews about 5:30 a.m.. After being flown to safety, she was taken to a waiting aid car for medical treatment.
A second rescue was ongoing as of Monday afternoon. Three hikers were reported missing overnight after they didn’t return from a trip in the Index area. They were located in the Trout Creek area, according to police.
Crews on Monday were working to get the three hikers and their dog to safety. They were unhurt.
