The front page in Sunday’s paper told the readers “a new era” will begin with the new Husky stadium. With this new house, is there a new coach too?
No, just the same guy that has gone 7-6 the last three years. And is just one game above .500. And the highest paid state worker. Wake up, Husky Nation — $250 million stadiums don’t win; “blue-chippers” do and Sarkisian should knows this. Today’s average players go U.W.; the good ones head South or East. He says the new stadium will help in recruiting efforts. Wake up, coach, players look at the win/lose record first and the direction the team is headed. Would you play on a team that has gone 7-6, three years in a row? (Average players did).
He believes the new stadium will allow the program’s continued revival. Say what, coach? Somehow 7-6 was better than the your last 7-6. Remember, he almost lost to Eastern last year. He only has four “away” games this year. First four games are home. Out of the first nine games, only two are “away.” With a schedule like this, and if he doesn’t produce, put him on the first train out of town.
This new $250 million dollar stadium came with a “hot-seat” built in. You’ll find Sarkisian’s name on the back of it. As he looks over his shoulder, he’ll look down and see the seat. This concept of a new stadium producing wins has the same appeal of a baboon in a party dress: it’s not how you look, but how you act. The Husky Nation needs to wake up. You will not be getting your money’s worth.
