A day after fullback Michael Robinson said his goodbyes, the Seahawks are apparently preparing to part ways with another Pro Bowl veteran.
The Seahawks will release cornerback Antoine Winfield today, according to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com, though they could try to trade him first.
Hearing that the Seahawks, so deep in the secondary, will be releasing CB Antoine Winfield.

Always the chance Seattle could deal Winfield first – WSH and MIN had legit interest this offseason – but can be difficult this time of year

Winfield, 36, was a three-time Pro Bowler with Minnesota and was one of several high-profile acquisitions made by the Seahawks in the offseason. The emergence of a healthy Walter Thurmond, however, apparently made the Seahawks decide a more expensive veteran was expendable.
And one quick programming note, I’ll be heading to the UW this afternoon for the Huskies’ opener, so there will be little if any cut-day info in this space after this.
