Here are introductory statements from the two candidates:
It's a great honor to serve as your city councilman and I look forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Edmonds. As your city councilman for the last five years, I have, and will continue to work on issues important to you.
Public safety: This is my number one priority. I will ensure we have cops on the street and our EMS/Fire services remain as strong as ever.
Our economy: As a successful small business owner and liaison to the economic development committee, I understand the challenge of economic development and bringing quality businesses and good jobs to Edmonds.
Our environment: I have been a regional leader in protecting the environment, including fighting against the proposed increase of coal trains along our waterfront.
Maintaining Edmonds character and charm: I'll continue to work for all of our neighborhoods, support the arts and invest in our streets and sidewalks.
I am endorsed by Sen. Maria Cantwell, local Edmonds firefighters (IAFF-1828), Snohomish County Council President Stephanie Wright, Mayor Dave Earling, State Representative Marko Liias, former mayor Gary Haakenson, former Councilwoman Deanna Dawson and many of your friends and neighbors.
Thanks for your continuing support and I ask for your vote.
