Back in July thousands of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis fans flooded Broadway Avenue on Capitol Hill in Seattle to be part of the hip hop duos newest music video for the song “White Walls.”
That video debuts today.
Macklemore and Lewis seem to have perfected the lost art of the music video. Pretty much everything they release instantly gets a million views on YouTube. If that wasn’t proof enough, the Seattle natives took home three Moonman statues at the MTV Video Music Awards a few weeks back, tying with Justin Timberlake for most awards on the night. They won Best Hip Hop Video and best Cinematography for their song “Can’t Hold Us” and Best Video With A Social Message for their marriage equality anthem “Same Love” featuring Everett’s own Mary Lambert.
It kind of felt like they made up that last category strictly because of “Same Love.”
I wonder if the video for “White Walls” will earn these guys another Moonman award next year.
