Truck strikes, injures jogger in Mukilteo

MUKILTEO -- A man was injured Monday night after being hit by a pickup truck while he was jogging along Beverly Park Road in Mukilteo, according to police reports.
Witnesses reported that the driver appeared to be speeding and swerved into the bike lane, reports said. An Edmonds police officer trained in detecting drug use is assisting in the investigation. A blood sample was taken from the driver.
The jogger suffered fractures and possible head injuries. Medics brought him to a hospital around 11 p.m.
Ages for both the driver and jogger weren't immediately available.
