For many years, we have slowly been made aware of some of the ingredients in the foods we buy at our local grocery store. For years we have learned to accept the list on unknown ingredients on packaged foods. Then we find out, we may have been consuming “pink slime.” The very thought is enough to turn the strongest of stomachs.
Now, we hear about Genetically Modified Organisms in almost everything we eat! I think it is time to demand “full disclosure.” Not just a list of unknown ingredients, but also what they are! Nothing should be left out. I am tired of being used as a test subject. I want to know what GMOs and unknown ingredients do! What are the short- and long-term effects and why is this being done, to what benefit? This information should be disclosed to all consumers before the product hits the shelf.
